Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens is nestled among ten acres of secluded woods and streams and the 11,000 square foot building is indeed the hidden gem of the Chagrin Valley. Boasting a 28-foot barn, wood ceiling, and panoramic glass windows, the Winery embraces a clean, modern aesthetic with natural and organic attention to detail, creating a space that is both sophisticated and comfortably inviting.
Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens is the vision of Kathleen and Andy Dangelo, who fell in love with the seamless incorporation of the indoor and outdoor spaces prevalent at Napa Valley wineries. As life-long residents of the Chagrin Valley, they realized this experience was lacking in northeastern Ohio. They also realized they could use the landscape design and installation prowess of their company, The Ohio Valley Group, to create unrivaled outdoor spaces. They owned 15 acres of wooded property, but only occupied a small portion of it for their landscape design company, The Ohio Valley Group, Inc. This was the perfect location to bring their vision to life. In early 2016, they began the design/build process and opened Sapphire Creek Winery & Gardens in March 2018.
The perfect complements to Kathleen and Andy are Kimberly and Jimmy Gibson. The Gibsons are professionally-trained chefs and are also life-long residents of the Chagrin Valley. They are the successful owners of Hungry Bee Catery in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Kimberly McCune Gibson is also well known for her appearances on the popular Food Network show, “Chopped.” The Dangelos and the Gibsons combined to form the management company for Sapphire Creek Winery. This team brings their diverse knowledge base together to create an unrivaled guest experience with world-class food and wine, unparalleled service and magnificent indoor and outdoor spaces.
